Why It Pays

What guidance actually pays for

The same crooked pass gets re-billed every season — in seed, chemical and diesel.

The overlap you already pay for

A manually steered machine commonly re-covers 5–15% of ground on row-crop tillage and planting — invisible from the cab, which is why it survives season after season.

Guidance does not make the tractor faster. It removes the drift: the line is stored, not re-drawn at hour eleven.

From satellites to the steering column

  • Layer 01 · Satellites — all major constellations and bands tracked together, so a usable fix survives a blocked sky.
  • Layer 02 · Differential correction — raw positioning is metre-level. Corrections turn it into centimetres, by six routes: radio base, NTRIP, SBAS, BeiDou B2b-PPP, Galileo HAS, L-Band.
  • Layer 03 · Guidance logic — the line is stored, not re-drawn. Terrain compensation holds working width as the machine leans.
  • Layer 04 · Steering execution — a 7 N·m rated electric wheel motor drives the column, with manual take-over at any time.

Do not compare these numbers with the RTK figure. ±2.5 cm is what the HD818 achieves on RTK — a terrestrial or NTRIP correction. The satellite services (B2b-PPP, HAS, L-Band) are alternatives where RTK infrastructure does not reach; their accuracy and coverage are set by the service provider and vary by region.
Implement Control

ISOBUS, in two levels

ISOBUS is a stack, not a feature. The HD818 implements two of its levels — UT and TC-SC.

Which level you need

  • UT — Universal Terminal: the implement appears as a screen on the HD502B terminal, replacing its own monitor.
  • TC-SC — Section Control: switches implement sections automatically on the line — no double-application at headlands, no skips between.

Also: Steer-Ready. Machines with factory auto-steering prep connect straight through — no hydraulic modification, no added motor.

Guidance Patterns

Four patterns, four field shapes

A straight AB line is right on open ground and wrong on a contour block. The HD818 stores all four, switched per field.

AB Lines

Two points set a reference line; every following pass is parallel to it. The default on open, rectangular ground.

A+

A+ Lines

An offset variant that adds a shift to the reference line — for matching a bed, a fence or a previous pass.

Parallel Curves

For contours and irregular boundaries, where a straight line would drift off the working width.

Circular Curves

Concentric passes for centre-pivot irrigation and circular blocks, from a stored centre point.

The crate ships with the tools needed to fit it — screwdriver, cable ties and tape included rather than assumed. If any item is missing on arrival, tell us before installation starts.
Installation

Six steps, no factory visit

The kit is designed to be fitted by your own workshop or local dealer. Nothing here requires a factory technician on site.

From crate to first pass

  • 1 · Confirm the model — send us the tractor brand, model and year; we match the bracket kit before shipping.
  • 2 · Mount the wheel motor — the HM100 assembly fits the existing steering column with the supplied brackets.
  • 3 · Fit the receiver — HS-223A and radio antenna on the cab roof, harness run inside.
  • 4 · Wire the control unit — HD418 main harness and documented wiring diagram.
  • 5 · Calibrate & set the line — wheel-angle calibration, then store your first AB line.
  • 6 · Work the field — run a test pass and check the overlap against your previous practice.

Two accuracy numbers, and why both are published. 8 mm + 1 ppm (RMS) is the HS-223A receiver’s own positioning performance under RTK, measured at the antenna. ±2.5 cm is the working accuracy of the whole machine — it also contains the steering mechanism, the linkage and the implement. Neither should be compared with the satellite-delivered services, whose accuracy is set by the service provider.

Read this before you put the HD818 in a tender.
The CE verification of conformity for the HD818 auto-steering system (certificate no. ICAS-25110026-02, dated 16 January 2026) is issued to Heilongjiang Huida Technology Co., Ltd., the manufacturer of the Auto Steering System product family, under which style no. HD818 is listed. Xuzhou Jitian Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. holds written authorisation dated 11 September 2026 to reference that certificate for the marketing and sale of this product range, including on this website.

Two limitations are printed on the certificate itself and we repeat them here rather than burying them: the verification of conformity was issued on a voluntary basis and does not by itself imply that every essential requirement listed in the Declaration of Conformity is met; and placing this product on the European market may additionally require EC/EU-type examination by an appropriate notified body. If your programme requires notified-body documentation, tell us at the enquiry stage — it changes the lead time.

Certificates and test reports are issued for specific configurations and markets. Anything not listed here is documentation we do not yet hold, and we will say so rather than defer the question.

HD818 — frequently asked

Will the HD818 fit my tractor?
It is a universal retrofit covering the vast majority of mainstream tractor brands, plus harvesters and self-propelled sprayers. Front-wheel, rear-wheel, articulated and tracked steering are all supported, and Steer-Ready machines connect straight through. Send us your machine brand, model and year — we confirm the bracket kit before you order.
Do I need a base station or CORS account?
For full RTK accuracy, yes — but there are six routes to a correction, not one. Alongside a local radio base and NTRIP over the mobile network, the HS-223A also accepts SBAS, BeiDou B2b-PPP, Galileo HAS and optional L-Band, none of which need a base station or a network. Their accuracy and coverage are set by the service provider and vary by region, so tell us where you operate.
The spec sheet says 8 mm + 1 ppm, but the page says ±2.5 cm. Which is right?
Both — they measure different things. 8 mm + 1 ppm (RMS) is the HS-223A receiver’s positioning performance under RTK, measured at the antenna. ±2.5 cm is the working accuracy of the complete machine once the steering mechanism, linkage and implement are included. Neither should be compared with the satellite correction services, whose accuracy is the service operator’s figure, not ours.
What ISOBUS level does the HD818 support?
Two: UT (the implement appears on the HD502B terminal) and TC-SC (automatic section control). UT removes an extra monitor from the cab; TC-SC is where input savings begin. Task records and prescription-map variable rate are not part of this configuration.
What does the CE certificate cover, and in whose name?
The verification of conformity (certificate no. ICAS-25110026-02) is issued to Heilongjiang Huida Technology Co., Ltd., the manufacturer of the Auto Steering System family, and HD818 is a listed style number. We hold written authorisation to reference it for marketing and sale of this range. The certificate is voluntary-basis and notes that EU market placement may additionally require EC/EU-type examination by a notified body.
Is 360° Surround View included?
No. It is an independent add-on module, quoted separately, and is not part of ISOBUS functionality. Order the HD818 with or without it — and if you are comparing quotations, list it as its own line so the comparison is like for like. Five further modules are available on the same platform: multi-function joystick, ISOBUS, land levelling, visual guidance and smart spraying.
How long does installation take, and who can do it?
It is a workshop job: the kit is designed to be fitted by your own mechanics or a local dealer, with documented wiring, a full bracket set and a calibration procedure. Tell us your machine model and we will confirm the bracket kit and send the installation documentation with the quotation.
Can we order with our own brand, and what is the MOQ?
MOQ is 1 unit, so you can trial a single kit before scaling; for distributor and project volumes we quote tiered pricing on request. Colour and logo OEM / ODM are available — send us your artwork and target configuration for a quotation.
